Caroline Cusson, the town’s treasurer unveiled the latest financial statement for the town at the May council meeting. For the past year, the town’s operating surplus came to $921,000. The revenue operating surplus reached $453,000, the bulk of which, $426,000, comes from the welcome tax. Many properties were sold in 2016 in TBL.

As far as the debt is concerned, it stands at $9.2M in 2017. Some $202,000 was allocated for capital and interest reimbursement last year.

$126,000 of the surplus will be allocated for future sewer services and $500,000 will go to rev up Knowlton.

The town’s overall operating revenues in 2016 reached $13,769,000 and expenses were $11,202,000.
