For the T.eenagers dance crew (including Alison Frendo from West Bolton) from Studio Tendanse in Granby, a year of hard work, determination and passion paid off as they were awarded the gold medal for the Junior division. In the week long competition, the girls competed against over 40 dance crews from countries around the globe, earning them a spot in the finals. In front of a crowd of over 10,000 live spectators and over 100,000 online spectators at the Thomas & Mac Centre in Las Vegas, the girls delivered a star performance. The five 12 and 13 year old members of T.EENAGERS: Alexia Hébert, Alison Frendo, Coralie Dubois, Isanne Fleury and Kiliane Rufiange, along with their Choreographer/Coach/Studio Owner Geneviève Gallant, and Coach Annie Gaucher represented Studio Tendanse in its first trip to the World Hip Hop Dance Championships.
Canada has become a respected force in the global hip hop arena and these five young girls have made Canada proud by continuing the tradition and claiming the title of World Junior Hip Hop Dance Champions.
