This year’s walk, hosted by The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club, on Sunday, October 1, will start and finish from the Brome Lake Community Center at 9.30 a.m. sharp. On-site registration is from 8.00 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. and can also be done online at: www.bmp- foundation.ca, pledge forms can be downloaded on the website. The forms are also available at: Panier Champêtre, Royal Lepage (Knowlton), Pharmacie Jean Coutu (Cowansville), Nettoyeur Houle, and Bromont Medical Clinic.
Over the past fifteen years, $707,469 has been raised to purchase specialised equipment for women’s cancers housed at the BMP Hospital. Funds raised by this year’s walk will finance the upgrade of a gynecological tower and the purchase of a medical grade surgical printer. This equipment will greatly assist the surgeons during procedures and with post-operative visits and follow-ups.
The Honorary co-presidents for this walk will be Louise Bissonnette, Chief of Peri-operative Services at the BMP Hospital, and Miranda Côté, student at Bishop’s University who is presently fighting her own personal battle. Co-chairs are Louise Gélinas, Johanne Coiteux and Club President Ginette Couture.
Participate with family, friends and dogs. Businesses, clubs and groups of friends are invited to form teams. No registration fee is charged but walkers are asked to contribute or raise a minimum of $20. to participate.
