Canada Day in Knowlton

All the favourite events will be back for Canada Day on Saturday, June 30 at Lions Park. In case of rain, the festivities will be delayed until Sunday, July 1.

New this year will be bingo from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It should be noted that the Dog Show at 2 p.m. is for children only. Registration is onsite with Jeri Burgess and there will be different prizes awarded such as: smallest dog, longest tail, saddest eyes, best costume, etc.

The theme for the Bike Parade this year is “Canadian Nature” and no registration is necessary. Departure is from Centre Lac Brome (Community Centre) at 3 p.m. with arrival at Lions’ Park for 3:30 p.m. for the flag raising ceremony. Prizes will be awarded for best decoration and so you had better get your creative juices flowing.

All the rides, shows and much of the food is free which enables all members of the family to participate. The town and many local merchants donate to this event and it is only possible because of the hard work of the volunteers and, in particular, the organizers: Shelley Judge and Marta Gubert Gomes. For the $5 parking fee for one vehicle, a family can enjoy all the shows and activities, including the Fireworks at the end of the day.
