Canada Day Festivities an event for all ages

The Canada Day festivities will be held on Saturday, June 29 and, in case of rain, on Sunday, June 30.

The organizing committee is made up of Shelley Judge and Marta Gubert Gomes. They will have help with the fundraising from Paul Girard and on the day of the event Thomas McGovern will be assisting. They are working hard to bring you another great day at Lions’ Park made possible with the help of many generous donations. A $5 fee is requested for parking privileges.

Along with the usual favorites such as the children’s dog show, the face painting, the bike parade, the inflatable children’s games and Mannix and his band, they are bringing back the free bingo and adding a balloon artist that will be at the park to show participants how to make balloon sculptures.

The festivities start at 2 p.m. and end at dusk with the best fireworks in the area. This year’s bike parade theme is ‘My Favourite Canadian’. The annual wine and cheese fundraiser for Canada Day will be held on June 13 at the Star Café. Tickets can be purchased for $20 at the Star Café or Coderre feed store.
