William Derek Stowe

William Derek Stowe, aged 73, passed away on January 15th, 2022 at the BMP hospital. He leaves to mourn  his wife of 50 years, Susan Clark, and their children Jennifer (Brian) and Ryan, as well as his beloved grandchildren Jordan and Cole. He also leaves his cherished sister, Donna Stowe Schberbak from Alberta. 

A Cowansville native, Derek grew up in the house which is now the home of the Il Castello restaurant. He was devoted to his family, friends and community and sat on the Boards of the BMP Hospital, and the Cowansville United Church and Knowlton United Church. Lately, Derek and Susan lived in the Coldbrook Condos in Knowlton where Derek was reputed to be a talented and much-loved handyman. Derek’s many friends stated that Derek was a really good man, truly happy to help whenever he could. 

Derek worked at Albany Felt in Cowansville, as well as at J.J. Barker. He travelled widely for work, and ultimately ended up spending three years in Johannesburg, South Africa. Derek was an international businessman, heading up the Derek Stowe Marketing company which continued operations until his retirement in 2017. 

Derek cherished this community and considered Knowlton home.
