Comptoir Familial useful to the community

Communiqué 

The Comptoir Familial de Knowlton, located in the basement of St. Edouard Church at 366 Knowlton Road, was founded in 1975 by women of AFEAS. The Comptoir is a non-profit organization operated by a group of volunteers and offers for sale various items such as clothing, bedding, CD’s, VHS, books, dishes, small electrical appliances, paintings, toys, etc. 

The Comptoir is open every Thursday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m. A red box, near the entrance, is available to receive your donations and fragile items can be delivered directly to the Comptoir on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings up to 11:30 a.m. The Comptoir would like to thank all its generous donors and buyers who have allowed us, despite the pandemic, to help our community in 2021. Here is the list of donations made after paying rent and other expenses. 

Food Bank: $10,000; First Responders: $3,000; St-Édouard School: $2,000; Knowlton Academy: $1,000; Loisirs Lac-Brome (Salamander Camp): $1,000; St-Édouard Parish: $1,000; Knowlton Lions Club: $1,000; Lac-Brome Optimist Club: $1,000; BMP Hospital: $1,000; Horizon pour Elle: $1,000; Au Diapason Foundation: $1,000; CIDI Radio: $500. In addition, donations were made throughout the year to families in need, the homeless, SOS Dépannage, and to Elizabeth High School (help for young pregnant women), for a total of $23,500.
