Mountainview hospital joins Bromont Veterinary Clinic

Mountainview Veterinary Services closes its doors for good on August 31, 2022. Dr. Erik Masclé and Dr. Luc Lemaître the two vets and all eight staff members will start work at a clinic in Bromont on the first working day of September. The practice is moving to the Clinique Vétérinaire de Bromont and the building that housed Mountainview is up for sale.

“The well being of the team was a top priority,” says Dr. Lemaitre. “We wanted make sure that the people we work with were able to use the valuable experience they have acquired over the years. We also insisted that all gained benefits over the years were honoured.”

Mountainview has a great number of clients from all corners of the Eastern Townships. The new location will be somewhat farther for some people in the area. The clinic has been blessed with serving clients as far as Montreal on a routine basis. Dr. Arne Johansson opened the location of the actual Veterinary Clinic in 1960. In 1972 Dr. Marc Lemaître, uncle of Dr. Luc Lemaître, acquired the actual building from Dr. Johansson. In 1985, Dr. Luc Lemaitre along with a classmate, Dre. Renée Léveillé took over the practice. Two years later, Dr. Érik Masclé came on board and the two men have operated the clinic ever since.

While the original vets dealt with large animals, such as horses and cattle, Mountainview was dealing with dogs and cats, and will continue to do so at its new location in Bromont.

“We want people to know they can deal with the same vets and support staff they are used to. It should be a pretty seamless transition,” says Dr. Érik Masclé.
