New Principal at Knowlton Academy

Robert Paterson

This semester, Frederic (Fred) Noirfalise has joined Knowlton Academy as the new Principal.

Fred began his career in education 20 years ago as a Physical Education teacher . A large part of such a role is, of course, organizational. These organizational abilities were noticed, and, after only seven years in this role, Fred was asked to become a Vice Principal. He has been in the administrative stream for the last 13 years, serving as Vice Principal, Principal, and also a three-year term at the Eastern Townships School Board.

Fred is part of the wave of migration from the city to the rural life. Six years ago, Fred and his family, he has three children, moved from the South Shore of Montreal to live in the Townships. Like many who have made this move from the city to the country, he, and his family, were looking for more community, and an opportunity to be more physically active. He is an avid skier and mountain biker.

Talking about Community, Community support was the first thing that he has noticed about Knowlton Academy. “Never, in any school, have I seen such community support as I have here at Knowlton Academy. Never have I also come across such a devoted staff.”

Looking ahead, he noted that, “I anticipate much change in the future, especially in the updating of the building which is in need of renovation, but we will do this together with the input of both parents and the staff.”
