On January 30th, Isabelle Charest, the Minister Responsible for Sports, Recreation and the Outdoors, and Johanne Gauvin, her riding office manager, visited the Pettes Memorial Library to learn more about its planned expansion. The visit allowed them to see the need for new spaces and to look at preliminary plans for the expansion project. Library manager Jana Valasek and Suzanne Brochu, member of the board of directors, informed madame Charest about the results of the local fundraising campaign and the steps taken with the different levels of government to obtain the grants needed to finish the project. Madame Charest relayed her support for the project and the steps taken by the library thus far to Quebec’s Ministry of Culture and Communications.
