The Tour des Arts, an annual foray into the creative world of artists and artisans in the Eastern Townships, believes in the need to enrich the lives of children by offering art workshops for young people in the region. These art workshops allow children to see, touch, understand creative and inventive work, while discovering different artistic techniques.
This year, the Tour des Arts is offering something new, by financing art workshops in primary schools to reach a greater number of children. École St-Édouard in Knowlton and École de Sutton welcome four artists from the Tour to lead two-hour art workshops for 5th and 6th graders.
It is to the delight of the 76 children who will participate in various workshops: making an accordion book with Brigitte Normandin; drawing and gouache with Muriel Faille; painting with Michel Beaucage; and jewelry creation with Caroline Lanctôt-Benoit. This privileged moment between artists and young people exposes children to the artistic world and leads them to discover a passion, a method of expression, while having fun.
We also invite you to meet the 32 artists of the Tour des Arts in their workshops from July 15 to 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
