Lee Patterson wins race for mayor of Town of Brome Lake

Lee Patterson has been elected as the new mayor of Lac-Brome (TBL). In the hotly contested November 2 election, Patterson won with 36.28 percent of ballots cast. Some 53.4 percent of TBL’s 5,663 registered voters turned out to vote.

Patterson defeated first-time candidate Benoit Bourgon (30.54 percent), Shelley Judge (25.19 percent), and Alan Gauthier (7.99 percent).

Every council seat in TBL was contested. Elected to council are:

  • Claude Rajotte (Bondville)
  • Steven Beerwort (West-Brome–Iron-Hill)
  • Pierre Laplante (East Hill)
  • Lisa Payne (Knowlton–Victoria)
  • Patrick Ouvrard (Knowlton–Lakeside)
  • Robert Laflamme (Foster)

West Bolton

Denis Vaillancourt was elected mayor by acclamation to his second term as mayor of West Bolton.

Also elected by acclamation are councillors Nancy Lanteigne, Gilles Asselin, and Eddy Whitcher.

In the November 2 election, voters re-elected Margarita Lafontaine and Loren Allen to council. Daniel Desrochers was elected to a first term as councillor.

West Bolton has 694 registered voters; 49.4 percent turned out to vote.

East Bolton

Elaine Thivierge has been elected by acclamation as mayor.

Pierre Piché, Richard Guévin, Anita Jobin, and Pierre Lemay have been elected by acclamation as councillors.

Elected to council in the November 2 vote are Stéphanie Bilodeau and Daniel Martin.

St-Étienne-de-Bolton

Diane Desjardins has been elected by acclamation as mayor. All councillors were elected by acclamation, so there was no election on November 2.

Councillors elected by acclamation are outgoing councillors Harry Bird, Jocelyn Brasseur, Alexandre Berger, and Vincent Jarry, along with newly elected councillors Christine Boutin and Robert Bergeron.

Brome

William Miller has been re-elected as mayor by acclamation.

Councillors Wesley Patch, Lisa Belanger, Christopher Whitehead, and Larry Royea have also been elected by acclamation.

Lynn Patenaude and Anthony Allen were elected to council on November 2.

Brome has 287 registered voters.
