The Brome Bright Lights short story contest is open to elementary level children (grades 1–6) in the Brome-Missisquoi area. So, it is time for eligible students to get their creative juices flowing.

Stories must be under 800 words, written in English and be works of the imagination. They will be judged on originality, vocabulary and grammar. Entries should be dropped off at Brome Lake Books no later than Friday, April 17. Winners will be announced at the end of May.

There is a $50 first prize and a $25 runner up prize for each grade level, and a $200 Grand prize winner. Thanks are due to the Knowlton Lions Club and the Knowlton Players for supporting this event. For information or an entry form, contact:
