The community garden is back

Translation: Francine Bastien

Attention all green thumbs of Town of Brome Lake.

At the time of writing, there are still a few beds available at the municipality’s community garden. The 25 growing containers were redone this year and are ready to welcome budding gardeners as well as those who are more experienced.

The gardens are located next to the dog park on Mont Echo Road. The surplus will go to the food bank and to the community fridge at the Centre Lac-Brome.

New this year, in addition to going to the Brome Lake food bank, surplus harvests will supply the new community fridge, which should be available starting June 11 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. “It is first and foremost an anti-waste project,” says the director of the Centre Lac-Brome, Cynthia Brunelle. Everyone will be invited to come and stock up on fresh produce. The fridge will be located in the entrance to the Lac-Brome Centre.
