Bolton-Est gets permanent roof

Jennifer Robinson

Work has begun on a permanent roof in the Bolton-Est Terrio Park. The structure will replace the canvas tent set up every summer to host the Saturday morning farmer’s market, open-air concerts and community gatherings.

The steel and cedar structure will be installed on a concrete slab measuring 12 x 18 metres. The project is part of the town’s master development plan.

The work, expected to be completed this summer, will cost $333,000 and is largely financed by a grant from the Mempremagog MRC, and a Quebec agriculture initiative which aims to bring local produce to consumers through local markets and agrotourism initiatives.
