Over a million soccer players are formally registered in Canada. Youth soccer in Brome Lake reflects this appeal.
This season, which wrapped up in August, more than 150 children participated in four age categories. Three to Six, Under Eight, Under 10 and Under 12. Each team plays about 15 games a season. The players were supported by 20 volunteer coaches and a coordinator, whose role is funded by the Town of Brome Lake. TBL teams play in the League de Soccer des Cantons, which includes Brome Lake, Cowansville, Dunham, St.Alphonse and Waterloo.
As we look forward to next season, Andrew Bourget, TBL’s newly appointed recreation coordinator, is developing plans to further support coaches and coordinator. These plans will be in place when registration begins in March 2025.
This year, the costs per participant were from $65 to $115 for residents and $115 to $165 for others, depending on the category.
