On the second floor of a recently renovated building on Lakeside Road, Casannita and Atelier Em offers a unique experience for arts-and-craft lovers. This boutique, a showcase for the talents of the region, is the result of a collaboration between Annie Comeau, founder of Casannita, and Émilie Dion, creator of Atelier Em. It is located at 37 Lakeside Road, just above JB Skin Savvi by Jennifer Brodeur. The building was recently renovated by Nizar Barrou and Véronique Levrey, owners of this and other buildings in the village.
The idea for this boutique came by chance. Annie, who already was in the arts and craft business in the Laurentians, was delivering an order to Jennifer Brodeur, who mentioned space was available upstairs. Although Annie hadn’t planned to rent space in Knowlton, she was quickly captivated by its potential.
She soon shared the idea with Émilie, one of her clients at the time, who was drawn to the project and decided to join.
Casannita and Atelier Em is not just a boutique but also a workshop where both artists work on-site and welcome the public. They aim to make it a meeting and collaboration space for local artisans. In addition to showcasing their own creations, they exhibit the works of other artists.
For the holiday season, Casannita and Atelier Em are featuring gift boxes filled with artisanal creations.
