Starting June 25, Salamander Camp will launch a full slate of waterfront programming at Douglass Beach.
From Monday to Thursday, children from the area will:
- Learn to row,
- Try paddle boarding and canoeing,
- Take swimming lessons,
- And — most importantly — have fun!

Salamander will continue its traditional camp programming while expanding its waterfront offerings this summer. “We are very excited to add new activities and spend more time at the beachfront,” Bergeron added. “We will also provide many older teens a chance to have a full-time summer job — Salamander will be hiring many counsellors.”
Peter McKelvie, Principal of Knowlton Academy, noted the impact on students:
“The partnership with Aviron Knowlton Rowing and the Town of Brome Lake provides our students with confidence-boosting experiences promoting personal and academic growth. The sense of achievement that comes with mastering a new skill has translated into improved classroom performance and increased engagement in their studies. Without this partnership, these students would have few opportunities to hone these skills during the summer months, making this initiative even more crucial for their overall development.”
