Aluminum alloy tabs from cans of soft drinks, beer, cat food, etc. have been collected in this area since 2014. They benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children which has just celebrated its 100th year of operation in Montreal. The beauty of this project is that it is a valuable lesson on how every little bit can help a good cause. You can save the tab and still obtain your deposit back for the cans. The following businesses have been faithfully acting as collection centres for these tabs: Arnold Royea at Petits Moteurs, Depanneur Rouge, IGA Knowlton and Chez Moi Chez Toi in Bondville.
Massey-Vanier students have, for several years, been involved in this collection project. Dexter Larose, a Mason and International Shriner, is the coordinator of this fund-raiser and over the years millions of tabs have been collected and recycled for the Shriners Hospital.
