Diane Desjardins is to run for Mayor of St. Etienne de Bolton, the only candidate to have announced their intention thus far as Tempo went to press.

She has been a permanent resident of St. Etienne since 2018, when she retired from her career in health care management. She has volunteered in many local initiatives including Meals on Wheels, the protection of hiking trails and Lake Libby conservation. Desjardins has also been involved with the town’s civil-security and emergency-management communications.
This campaign would mark her first entry into municipal politics. She states that she has a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to devote to public service.
Platform and Priorities
Desjardins is focused on the importance of land-use planning needs that account for protection of the environment, an enduring and widely-shared concern. She also cites sound and transparent management of public finances, support for sustainable and responsible projects, and the development and maintenance of roads and infrastructure as being among St. Etienne’s most pressing priorities.
