The right side of winter

It’s only February winter has already overstayed its welcome. But, take heart! Before you know it, the days will get longer, and spring will be right around the corner.

In the meantime, why not make the most of what’s left of winter?

If you don’t already have a plan to thrive this winter, make one. Be sure to have something in your daily routine to improve your health, mind and heart.

Move every day

At least 20 minutes, but more if you can. Pickleball, skiing, cross-country skiing, yoga, Zumba, line dancing or simply get outside for a brisk walk. Join an activity at the Lac Brome community centre.

Socialize

It is too easy to get isolated in the winter. Play bridge, have dinner or tea with friends, volunteer for any of the fabulous organizations and non-profits in the area. Make sure you are connecting with people and community in a regular and meaningful way.

Challenge Yourself Intellectually

With new learning and ideas. Find an artistic or intellectual activity that makes you think. Sketch or paint, write badly or write well – just create something.Enroll in courses, or attend Phelps history lectures at the community centre. Your mind needs exercise too, and Netflix doesn’t always count.

Spring is coming. Until then, winter has good stuff to offer. GO find it!
