What’s new at CIDI 99.1 FM

CIDI is riding high with new activities, a significant donation, and new programming.

All Bands on Deck
This month, CIDI will launch a concert series called All Bands on Deck, featuring local artists. The concerts will take place on their patio at 109-A Lakeside on Friday evenings between 5 and 7 p.m. Sarah Biggs and Claude Prud’Homme have already agreed to participate, and CIDI is actively seeking other artists. The goal is to record the performances and interviews with the artists for broadcast this winter.

A Generous Donation
The Comptoir familial has made a generous donation of $5,000 to CIDI. This donation comes at a crucial time for the radio station, as it is relocating its transmission tower. This is a complex and expensive undertaking, and such a donation helps them move closer to their goal.

New Programming
In April, three new programs premiered on CIDI. Gisèle Dallaire hosts “Les voix d’ici” (Voices from Here), a French-language program about local entrepreneurs. Étienne Hamel hosts a progressive, ambient, and international music program called “Radio Waterhouse.” Finally, Jaime Moar hosts a program based on her book of the same name, “That Does Not Belong to Me.” With these three new additions, CIDI now boasts nineteen original programs produced right here in the Eastern Townships.
