OFF Knowlton Film Festival

As a prelude to its 7th edition, which will take place from August 18 to 23, the Knowlton Film Festival unveiled the program for its OFF Festival, offering nine cinematic events throughout the greater Eastern Townships region. Screenings under the stars, country dinners, cocktail-exhibitions and festive evenings will be offered to film lovers from June 11 until August 12.

June 11

The first stop was on June 11 at the Beat & Betterave nano-brewery in Frelighsburg, where Pascale Ferland’s documentary essay, Dans la forêt, was screened.

July 3

On July 3, Domaine Jolivent will host festivalgoers, in the presence of director Mélanie Charbonneau and actresses Gabrielle Côté and Juliette Gosselin, for a screening of the film Les Furies.

July 10

The third stop is on July 10 at the Atelier Leporello, where film enthusiasts will discover the animated film Archipel, screened in the presence of director Félix Dufour-Laperrière.

July 15

On July 15, the Knowlton Film Festival will unveil its program at the Lac-Brome Theatre and present Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, winner of a 2026 Golden Globe and featuring a powerful performance by Jessie Buckley, recipient of the Academy Award for Best Actress.

July 17–19

From July 17 to 19, the Festival crosses the border at the invitation of the Maine International Film Festival to present two feature films and five short films from Quebec as part of a special showcase dedicated to Quebec cinema.

July 25

In collaboration with Les Correspondances d’Eastman, the Festival will present Marche au pays réel on July 25 at the Complexe Saint-Édouard in Eastman, with director Marie-France L’Écuyer and author Samuel Lalande Markon in attendance.

July 30

The seventh stop will be on July 30 at the Fulford Community Centre, which, in collaboration with La Belle Alliance vineyard, will host the film The Unsexing of Emma Edmonds by Pepita Ferrari.

August 6

On August 6, La grande bellezza, Paolo Sorrentino’s cult classic and winner of the 2014 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, will be screened at Les Cocagnes agroecological farm in Frelighsburg.

August 12

Finally, on August 12, the OFF program concludes at Espace DesPrés in Sutton with a screening of R. Roussil, le cul par terres by Maxime-Claude L’Écuyer.
