Diane Yarmush was born in Montreal on December 17, 1945, to Thomas and Hilda Cahill. One of two children, she grew up in Montreal with her older brother Taylor.

She traveled the world as a teenager and in her 20s, danced professionally in theatres and night clubs around the world, including the Latin Quarter and Olympia in Paris. In 1967 she worked at the World’s Fair in Montreal, a time she fondly remembered her whole life.
Family Life
She was married in 1972 to Daniel Yarmush and they had three children. After a time living in Miami and working on cruise ships, she and Danny moved to Knowlton in 1987 where she raised her family.
She spent the next 37 years there.
Life in Knowlton
Diane was very active in town, including teaching dance at Knowlton Academy, running an arcade and video store called Funtasteek, and choreographing a number of shows with Knowlton Players. She also worked for a time at the Knowlton Golf Club, and was a caretaker.
She considered Knowlton her home.
In 2024, she and Danny moved to a residence in Lachine. Diane died peacefully in her sleep on June 20, 2026, in Montreal.
She is survived by her husband Danny and her three sons Dirk, Joseph and Michael.
