This year’s Christmas Angel program is expanding. Most are familiar with the Yamaska Valley Optimist Club’s Paper Angel program to provide young children in need with Christmas gifts. This year, the program will expand to include Teen Angel gift cards for older children and teens.
To be part of this program, ask your angel store for a donation envelope or make an email transfer to: yamaskaopti@gmail.com
Where to find a Paper Angel
To buy a gift for a child in need, pick up a paper angel in one of these stores as of Friday, November 13:
- Knowlton: Home Hardware (Barnes), Dépanneur Rouge, Le Panier Champêtre and Le Touche Finale
- Cowansville: Pharmacie Familiprix Marziali, Tigre Géant
- Sutton: Pharmacie Brunet
How the program works
The paper angels indicate the gender, age, interests and clothing size of the child for whom you will be purchasing the gift. The type of gift and the amount you spend is completely at your discretion.
After you have purchased your gift, wrap it and attach the paper angel using a single strip of tape so it can be easily removed. The gift should then be returned to the retailer where you registered no later than Sunday, December 6.
The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club will deliver the gifts before Christmas.
