All members of Council were present, including Rebecca Bailey, elected by acclamation to Council in a by-election September 25. Ms. Bailey replaces Nancy Lanteigne, who stepped down in July. Town Hall renovation
Work is progressing on engineering and architectural plans for the renovation of Town Hall. The plans will form the basis of a public presentation and be used to apply for a provincial grant to cover part of the costs.
Payment of municipal expenses of $69K and $36K in salaries was approved. Contracts for surveying and culvert replacement planning were also approved.
Septic tank pumping
In rural Quebec, septic tanks are pumped out every two years at houses with full-time residents and every four years for second homes. In West Bolton, homeowners are responsible for hiring pumping companies. Some municipalities have a single service provider for all, which reduces costs. West Bolton will look into whether a single contractor would be a more cost-effective approach.
Water quality testing
Water quality testing of all streams in West Bolton has been carried out since 2015. Water quality has been consistently good and improving year over year. To save money, future testing will be done every two years.
150th anniversary celebration

The Mayor expressed his sincere thanks to all those who volunteered and those who generously donated funds and goods. The event attracted more than 250 people and included food and activities for residents of all ages, young and old.
