By Ron Myles, Councillor for West Brome and Iron Hill
The Town Council wishes to acknowledge the efforts and successes of our various sports teams, both the players and the coaches and to recognize the efforts of our young people in soccer, rugby, etc. To that end, we wish to establish a “Wall of Honour” at the Centre Lac-Brome. This space will be reserved for photographs or banners of the various teams who have won a tournament or finished first in regular season play. This “Wall of Honour” will be in a visible space for all to see.
The problem is that we do not have an inventory of photos of the teams that were successful. I am asking the citizens of Brome Lake to lend any photos they may have so that we may copy and mount them in an appropriate fashion. The photos will be returned to their owners upon completion of the project. Any photos that you may have can be left with the front desk at the Community Center. Please remember to identify your photos with your name and contact information as well as the info on the winning team’s accomplishment, date and place etc. We, as a council, believe that it is important to encourage the young people of our town and acknowledge their successes.
