Local business KDC/One recently announced its financial support ($25,000) for the ambitious initiative of the Centre National de Cyclisme de Bromont to build the Velodrome Sylvan Adams et Centre Multisports Desjardins in Bromont.
The velodrome, estimated to cost 20 million, will, as the name suggests, be much more than the first indoor training facility for competitive cyclists in Quebec. The centre will feature a spinning room, named after KDC/One, as well as two multisport gyms for volleyball, tennis, and trampoline and gymnastics. It will also house a conference centre.
“It was a good fit for KDC/One because the company believes in promoting heathy lifestyle habits” says Valerie Gonzalo, KDC’s spokesperson. KDC/One’s former Chief Commercial Officer, Mario Allaire, an avid sports fan who retired from the company in 2020, was the one who proposed that the company support the project.
KDC/One was also recently revealed to be a major donor ($250,000) to the BMP hospital’s new Clinique d’orthopedie Bombardier-Beaudoin which was opened in March 2020. The timing could not have been better as the improved space made it much more feasible to adapt to the restrictions brought on by the pandemic.
KDC/One is in the personal care products business with a network spanning the globe.
