Students came from miles around to speak out in the district finals of the Optimist Club’s public speaking competition. Micah Lemaître and Ben McAuley participated in the elementary competition called Kids Speak out.

They each competed against three other competitors and both won.

Aiden Meacher, because he won last year in the elementary level, had to compete in the high school competition “Oratory”. Even though he is only in grade 6, he went up against grade 7 to 11 students and, amazingly, he won. For this achievement he received a $2500 scholarship.

Claude Boulianne and Micheline Viau-Defoy of Brome Lake Optimist Club are to be congratulated for all the support they gave to these young orators.
