This kayak race on the Missisquoi river is organized by the town of Bolton-East to raise funds to upgrade the playground in the Terrio municipal park. The race will start on Saturday May 11 at 1 p.m. at the Missisquoi North park (at South Pine St. in Eastman).
This year all kayaks must be cleaned on site to limit the spread of harmful organisms. A washing station operated by the Department of Forests, Fauna and Parks will be available for participants before the race.
After the race, kayakers, villagers and visitors are invited for a méchoui supper in the large tent at Terrio Park.
We are seeking gifts of non-perishable food and money for this event. Please bring them to the food bank PARTAGE/SHARE of the Missisquoi-Nord Volunteer Action Bureau at the tent entrance.
We ask everyone to help our green brigade dispose of all refuse after the meal – blue bin, brown bin or green bin … our mission is zero waste.
Fireworks will close the evening at 10 p.m.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the three winning kayakers. All race participants will receive a one day fixed price package for SPA Bolton.
• Race registration before May 1st: $35 / person, including descent of the river, Méchoui supper and a one day fixed price package at SPA Bolton; $40 after May 1st.
