Centre électronique de Knowlton, operated by Jean-Jacques De Buck at 489 Knowlton Road, will relocate in April to 527 du Sud, in Cowansville. In 1991 he took over Tecknico TV, founded by his dad Jacques in 1976, as a repair outfit of electronic devices in Knowlton.

He will double up with his daughter Christine De Buck, who cut her teeth in electronics and computers working with him for seven years, and recently opened her Zone Infotech boutique across from Jean Coutu, thus starting the third leg of family electronics, a local story now 43 years old.

Both are solo operators, thus heavy responsibilities and long hours, whereas he was salivating at the idea of a less frenetic rhythm and she wanted to devote more time to her kids.

Their disciplines are well matched. Jean- Jacques focusing of large-screen TVs, media systems, and electronic accessories, as well as installation, repairs, after-sale services and the administration of their combined operations. Christine specialising in computer matters regarding installation, upgrades, repairs and consulting, a fast-growing domain.

With two specialists in electronics, this team will even be able to offer, on demand, a pick- up and delivery service for those who so desire or are not mobile.

As for the established Knowlton-area clientele, the new venue should not change anything. Jean-Jacques keeps his number 450-243-0487, and Christine’s is 450-306-1246.
