The Brome County Museum is now an accredited museum in Quebec. It has been granted the official quality-standard for its collections and its management. It is “On the map” for Quebec museums.

Accreditation also opens up an entirely new potential source of funding. Until now, the Museum could only seek grants that paid for capital infrastructure. Going down this route has renewed its buildings for another generation. With “Accreditation”, the Museum can now seek operational funds to help with how the collections are managed and showcased. Access to such funding gives the Museum an opportunity to grow.

As a first step, the Museum has just launched a new website, This website can take bookings for events and renew memberships online. Soon, the website will begin to showcase parts of the collections that have been hidden from public view and so open up the Museum to the larger world.
