At a ceremony held in Cowansville at the Massey-Vanier High School, Nolan Russell from the Brome Lake area, was awarded the Knowlton Lions Club bursary for his academic achievements.

In his thank you letter to the Club, Nolan stated: “I greatly appreciate being recognized for my academic efforts and my successes at Massey-Vanier High School. In the next few years I will be studying at Champlain CEGEP St. Lambert in the General Social Science program.

My goal is to improve my grades as much as possible in order to transfer to the Police Technology program at John Abbott College. I hope to become a police officer. Giving back to the community has always been a goal of mine, and I hope my chosen career path will allow me to do this. This award will greatly reduce my financial burden in the months to come, as it will help me pay for the cost of the textbooks and all my other school related fees.”
