“Pickleball is exploding,” says Club President, Jean-Martin Verreault. “Today we have 95 members, three years ago we had 12.” A cross between table tennis and tennis, part of Pickleball’s appeal, is how easy it is to master the essentials and so to have fun almost immediately. It is also kinder to the body, as it puts less pressure on knee-joints and arms.

“Pickleball is very social,” says Vice President, Rena Halickman. “We play as a group and enjoy each other’s company.”

The Town has responded to this demand by building three courts and an enclosure. “We now have the finest courts in Quebec,” added a grateful Verreault. The game is not expensive. The annual membership is $25 a year, and the club provides all the equipment.
