Parishioners of St. Edouard’s Church and other members of the Unité des Vignes, (association of local parishes), were sad to learn that their priest and moderator, Danik Savaria, would be leaving the area at the end of July. At the request of the bishop, Mgr Christian Rodembourg, he has been asked to be the next moderator of several churches in Granby.

Danik Savaria has been the St. Edouard’s priest for the past eight years and has been much appreciated by the parishioners. When he arrived, he spoke limited English but took the time to learn to communicate well in both languages and even tell wonderfully humorous stories which left his audience in a happy and light-hearted mood. When you are good at what you do, it means you are promotable and this is the case here.

The new moderator, Father Marc Diatta, speaks both French and English. He originates from Ziguinchor in Senegal and has been in the diocese since September 2017. He has done ministry for ten years in France.

We wish Danik good luck in the challenges that lie ahead and wish to welcome Marc Diatta to our parish.
