Kayaking for a good cause

The Missisquoi Challenge is a kayak race to be held on the Missisquoi River organized by residents of East Bolton to raise funds to improve the playground in Terrio Municipal Park.

Since the event has been a huge success and a great way to welcome the warmer days of spring, it is being held for the third consecutive year.

Kayakers follow the 15 km-long course on one of the region’s prettiest rivers to compete for the best time or simply for the pleasure of paddling and admiring the scenery. The start is at 2 p.m. on May 13, 2017 at Missisquoi Nord park (Rue des Pins Sud in Eastman).

After the race, kayakers, locals and visitors are invited to a big Méchoui dinner at 5 p.m. under the tent in Terrio Park, to the music of the Austin City Band. Tickets are on sale at the Town Hall of the Municipality of East-Bolton.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers and all Missisquoi Challenge participants will receive a free day at Bolton Spa.

Kataventure will make six kayaks available free of charge to the first six entrants who wish to borrow one, and other kayaks will be available for rent.
