In the overall matter of the CARKE Park waterfront shoreline lease recently granted by the Town’s mayor and councillors.
It is my understanding that the Town of Brome Lake acquired the 13-acre property in Bondville, as a benefit to the community as additional waterfront and lake access plus recreational potential and to create ample parking, washroom facilities and a picnic area for the general public.
Therefore, I would like to know, as I am sure most resident taxpayers would, why is it then that the town, who apparently bought this property, now has to award a waterfront lease for the shoreline of CARKE Park in the Bondville area when the town owns this parcel of land? Perhaps I am missing something and would like complete clarification regarding this waterfront lease on land the town owns and acquired for the benefit of its residents?
