The territory of the Town of Brome Lake covers more than 200 square kilometres. Knowlton is its economic hub of course but by no means its only attraction.
It is made of many smaller villages, namely, Bondville, East Hill, Foster, Fulford, Iron Hill and West Brome. They were all merged together in 1971 and became part of what is now Town of Brome Lake.
This merger happened nearly 50 years ago, but don’t be surprised to hear the locals say that they live in Foster or in West Brome. You don’t uproot the traditions of the past so fast here.
