The 31st Lac Brome Christmas Bird Count will not be held on account of the COVID-19 virus pandemic’s disruptive effects. Hopefully all will be back to normal next year but for the time being Bird Studies Canada is recommending that serious caution be used if a count is conducted. I feel that many count organizations will opt out of counting, greatly reducing the value of the count data. Rising virus cases in the l’Estrie region lately are also of concern. As always, I am interested in unusual bird sightings and would welcome news of any local sightings.
