A new chapter begins for a familiar local business. In May, Papeterie Knowlton opened its doors in the same small storefront where Eureka once operated, in the Knowlton Road mall near Raffield’s.
The shop is now owned and operated by Frédérique Lamarche, a young local entrepreneur, who takes over from Margot Allen, following Margot’s recent retirement.
From Montreal to West Bolton
Though born and raised in Montreal, Frédérique spent much of her childhood in the countryside. Her father raised goats on Stagecoach Road in the 1970s, and over the years, Frédérique fell in love with the area. She eventually moved to West Bolton, where she has now planted roots.
Her career has always centered around customer service, with experience in human resources, the travel industry, and hospitality. She and her brother also ran a tourist cruise boat operation in the Cayman Islands—a reflection of her entrepreneurial spirit and love for people.
A New Take on a Trusted Service
Papeterie Knowlton is open weekdays and continues to offer a full range of printing services for both individual and commercial clients—from invitations and programs to flyers, menus, and posters.
“We can handle anything that can be printed on paper,”
says Frédérique.
The shop is also equipped with a wide-format printer capable of printing on canvas, and continues to offer PUDO and Purolator courier services.
A Personal Touch
Frédérique is especially thankful to have had time to train with Margot before the handover and is committed to maintaining the shop’s tradition of personalized service. She also plans to bring her own creative flair to the business, introducing colourful new products such as personalized notebooks and greeting cards—a nod to her lifelong passion for beautiful stationery.
