Fish Day Returns – June 7

A Fun Family Tradition in West Bolton

The Brome Bolton Fish and Game Club will host its annual Fish Day on Saturday, June 7, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at 454 Brill Road.

This beloved community event welcomes youth aged kindergarten to 16, accompanied by an adult, to fish for free—no license required. The club’s large pond is freshly stocked each year with 10–12 inch trout, and each child is entitled to catch up to three fish.

Held in conjunction with Quebec’s pêche en herbe weekend—a province-wide initiative encouraging families to discover fishing—this is more than just a day at the pond. It’s an experience.

Participants will enjoy:

  • Free fishing courses
  • Free worms
  • Food and drinks
  • A special parting gift
  • Fishing permits valid until age 18
  • A trophy and book prize for the “most beautiful fish”

Children will fish in a scenic setting, learn about the sport, and walk away with memories (and maybe dinner!). Bring your own fishing rod—only a few loaners are available—and enjoy a truly special morning outdoors.

Club President Kevin Battley will once again present the trophy, just as he did last year in honour of Talia McGovern.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to introduce a young angler to the joys of fishing!
