A brand-new bilingual family arts festival called Court-Circuit will debut in the Brome-Missisquoi region Nov. 20 to Nov. 23. It’s the result of the combined creative effort of Pierre-David Rodrigue, Executive Director of Theatre Lac Brome, and playwright and director Dave Jenniss. It features a wide variety of activities – especially created for children aged 4 to 11 in this inaugural edition – to foster imagination and collaboration in our area’s youngest residents.

“Our goal is clear: to give every member of the family – from toddlers to teens – an inspiring, vibrant cultural experience, in both English and French,” says Rodrigue.
The schedule features theatre, creative workshops, dance, story-time readings and exhibitions for families to share.
Free and Paid Activities
Half the events and activities are offered at no cost to the public. Others are priced between $10 and $16 per ticket.
Free activities include the opportunity to take part in two large collaborative art projects, one of which will be inspired by local history and the Lac-Brome Museum collection, and the chance to create your own fanzine. Puppet theatres will offer fresh takes on classic tales, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” and “Hansel and Gretel.” Families can explore Abenaki choreography at the dance workshop. There will be a screening of “Dounia et la Princesse d’Alep,” a touching animated story of a Syrian girl’s experience as a refugee. TLB will host a hot chocolate bar, and there are lots of door prizes to be won.
The festival is an initiative of the Theatre in collaboration with Leporello, the Lac-Brome Museum, Brome Lake Books, D’Arts et de Rêves, the Sutton School of Art, Sur la scène Davignon, the Maison de la culture de Waterloo and Knowlton Film Festival.
