Théâtre fund-raiser well underway

By Alicia Southall

A year into a major fundraising campaign, Théâtre de Lac Brome is more than half way to its ambitious $5-million goal.

Thanks to Paul and Marie-Michelle Pathy’s generous $1-million donation, the total raised so far is $3 million. Benefactor Claire Léger was the campaign’s first donor, and Antoine Chagnon and Antonio Vieira, the Somers Family Foundation, BMO Financial Group, Desjardins Group, the Town of Lac-Brome, and CIBC have also contributed generously.

Use of Funds

Most of the money raised will be used to create an endowment to ensure long-term financial stability, with some funds allocated to modernizing technical equipment.

Leadership and Outlook

Campaign co-chairs Guy Cormier, outgoing President of Desjardins Group, and Darryl White, Chief Executive Officer of BMO Financial Group, are confident of the initiative’s continued success given TLB’s vital role in our region.
