About the Play

The Bride of Memphre is a very funny script written by Ross Murray, well known for his humourous articles in the Stanstead Journal, Townships Sun, Sherbrooke Record and books. This show is full of strong characters that are all layered and richly complicated. It is a challenge, and also a joy, to play them and the cast has been open and willing to put in the work.

Picture a wedding in progress, on the banks of Lac Memphremagog, when an uninvited guest shows up. Plans fall apart and, to put it mildly, things get very strange.

Directed by Danny McCauley, this comedic production, leaves you to find the answers to the two questions.
