25 years of protecting Brome Lake

By : Conservation Lac Brome

This year, Conservation Lac Brome (CLB) celebrates its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter century of dedicated work toward the health and protection of the lake. In its early days, the organization was known as Renaissance Brome Lake, reflecting a time when the lake required urgent action.

A Lake in Better Health, but Still Vulnerable

Today, thanks to numerous initiatives and strong community involvement, the lake’s condition has improved: it is no longer considered critical. However, it remains at an intermediate stage of aging and is still vulnerable to activities on its waters and within its watershed, highlighting the need for ongoing efforts.

A Community Celebration on July 20

To mark the occasion, CLB invites the public to a lakeside celebration open to all on July 20. On the program: refreshments, a look at the lake’s evolution through past and present images, the opportunity to paddle the Quilliams Nature Experience, and, above all, a chance to connect with the community and discuss the lake’s future.

A festive invitation to celebrate how far we’ve come and to continue protecting this shared natural treasure. Visit www.conservationlb.com for more details about the event, and email info@conservationlb.com to submit your historical photos of the lake.
