Theatre Lac-Brome is welcoming audiences

Theatre Lac-Brome is thrilled to be welcoming audiences back into the theatre as it gradually and safely re-opens.

Beginning with the Student Theatre Festival, a successful fundraising Gala, some wonderful sold-out music shows in different genres, and a new ciné-club, the light at the end of the cultural tunnel is finally began to shine.

For the last couple of months, in the theme of “La Dolce Vita”, the theatre lobby has displayed the extraordinary works of local artists Michel Beaucage, Odile Cloutier, Isabelle Daval, MarcAndré Fortier, Michel Gamache, Jennifer Jonas, Ursula Kofahl Lampron, Susan Pepler and Kylie Sandford. For the month of October, Susan Pepler will be the featured artist with her show called Peonies and Pearls – a post-summer celebration.

Here is a sample of what is coming up on stage:

• October 2: Stéphane Tétreault performing The Bach Suites

• October 9: Martha Wainwright Gala

• October 13: Cinéma TLB presents the film My Salinger Year with writer/director Philippe Falardeau present for a Q&A.

• October 16: Performer Kathia Rock presents a soulful journey singing predominantly in Innu.

Kathia Rock’s musical universe is inspired as much by the urban environment as by her community of Uashat-Mak-Maliotenam, near Sept-Îles on the North Shore. With a warm, powerful and transcendent voice, she composes and interprets melodies that draw their sources from the ancestral repertoire of her people as well as from traditional “contemporary folk-rock fusion” music. She transmits her culture, from the ancestors to the new generations, through music, storytelling and theatre. A unifying experience not to be missed.

Later in October and into November, Theatre Lac-Brome plans to bring you some live THEATRE in English and French.
