Garden Club welcomes new members

Brome Lake Garden Club

The Brome Lake Garden Club was founded in 1985 by two enthusiastic and knowledgeable gardeners John Mitchell and Donald Miller. They wanted to share their passion for gardening and horticulture with a small membership. Today after 35 years little has changed with the club’s mission. By offering exciting garden tours (from intimate private gardens to grand estates) memorable trips to Reford Gardens in Quebec City and the Montreal Botanical Gardens, educational winter lectures and the ever-popular mid summer picnic (always a sold out social event!) – all have helped grow the current membership to almost 200.

Like many organizations COVID-19 curtailed most of the club’s planned 2020/2021 programs. As restrictions lift, the club is confidently planning some winter speaker events and actively seeking out potential properties to visit next spring and summer. Members’ suggestions are always welcome so if you know of any visit-worthy properties, please let the club know.

If you are new to the surrounding area what better way to meet others who share a love of gardens and gardening. Gardening enthusiasts of all levels are welcome. Membership is a very reasonable $25 (couples $35), and forms to join may be found on the website http://www.bromelakegc.org. The club can be followed on Facebook: Brome Lake Garden Club/Club de Jardinage de Lac Brome.
