Jean-Claude Lefebvre

Jean-Claude Lefebvre passed away on June 22, 2023 at the age of 79 in Sutton, QC.

He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years Maureen and survived by daughter Kadeja, son Guillaume (Emily), his grandchildren Casey, Kira and Benjamin, and sister Viviane. He was an intellectual and a scholar, a highly intelligent and eloquent man whose words were his sword, his weapon of choice. His lifelong career and passion was as a translator and corrector for both English and French languages. He loved to write letters to Editors about all sorts of topics he was passionate about, which were generally printed as they were always on point and relevant to the times.

He was in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves and press attaché, volunteered for various community newspapers as editor in chief or translator, helped with politics, especially anything that would keep Canada unified, like Canada1 and the referendum, etc.

He was a voracious reader and his favorites were his weekly Science and socio-political magazines, as well as non-fiction historical, biographical and political novels. He was very cultured and loved to travel, visit art museums and local artists, listen to and see Jazz concerts, cycle with his wife and lift weights. However, his deepest passion was photography. We knew him best behind a camera lens! Always looking for candid shots as he captured life’s moments with family and out in nature.

A memorial gathering will take place on August 12th, 2023. For more information call 514-967-5131
