All members of Council were present except Mayor Vaillancourt; 14 residents were in the audience by Zoom or at the town hall.
Questions during the meeting covered the following points: A public consultation and information meeting on the West Bolton Town Hall Project will be held on Saturday, April 20th , from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Buchanan Room at the TBL Community Centre on Victoria Street. Discussion of the tax levels continued. Council should review all municipal expenditures and activities and maintain only those that are really necessary.
Town planning – No permits were issued in February.
Town management – The Director General and Secretary Treasurer Maike Storks has submitted her resignation effective March 30th. She will provide advisory services to assist a new DG during the transition period. An interim DG with considerable experience in municipal management has been hired for the period required to find a full-time replacement.
Roads and infrastructure – John Rhicard’s contract as Assistant Road Maintenance Supervisor has been extended. A contract for summer road grading has been approved. Small essential renovations to town hall have been approved – the costs will be covered by subsidies.
Public safety – The annual comprehensive report on fires in West Bolton required by the MRC will be prepared by the TBL Fire Dept.
