Wild Little Hearts: When Art Serves Nature and Children

By Nathalie Rivard

From September 27 to October 30, 2025, Théâtre de Lac-Brome will host Wild Little Hearts, a photographic exhibition by Jacques-André Dupont. An internationally renowned wildlife photographer, this Bolton-Ouest artist is known for his powerful and sensitive images of fauna, captured both in Africa and in the wild landscapes of Quebec.

Pure tenderness or busting energy

The exhibition shines a light on young animals — lion cubs, fawns, and fox kits — immortalized in moments of pure tenderness or bursting energy. Some works, in both colour and black and white, have won prestigious awards worldwide.

“I try to capture both their gentleness and vitality, as well as the vulnerability that reminds us of our duty to protect them.”
Jacques-André Dupont

A Social Commitment through Art

With Wild Little Hearts, Jacques-André brings to life a project he has been envisioning for years: uniting his passion for photography with a social commitment. In this case, he will donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of his works to the Main dans la Main Community Social Pediatrics Centre, which supports over 400 vulnerable children each year in Brome-Missisquoi.

“Protecting the little ones, whether they are animals or humans, comes from the same impulse,”
Jacques-André Dupont

His career reflects a constant interest in environmental and community causes. He has previously supported the Fondation de la faune du Québec and Indigenous conservation projects. This time, it is a personal connection — nurtured by friendships and a poignant family story of a niece with a rare disease that inspired him to embrace the cause of vulnerable children — that led him to support Main dans la Main.

Opening Reception: A Chance to Meet the Artist

The opening reception, scheduled for Saturday, October 18, at 7 p.m., will offer the public a chance to meet the artist, hear the stories behind his images, and immerse themselves in his world. This special moment will also shed light on his approach: using the power of art to raise awareness and take concrete action.

Wild Little Hearts is more than just an exhibition: it’s an invitation to see beauty, feel the urgency to protect, and take part in a wave of solidarity that unites nature and humanity.
